Individuals are encouraged to engage in a healthy, active lifestyle. Orion House is fortunate to be set within a semi-rural area in one of the most beautiful regions of the country with close access to an abundance of local walks and locations where people can pursue their leisure activities. Staff are experienced in supporting adults with additional needs and in facilitating access to activities in a safe and inclusive manner.

 

Some individuals who live at Orion House have 1:1 support at all times.

 

All Individuals have the benefit of nightly support consisting of one waking night staff and one sleeper in. Day staff would include two staff on-site and additional 1:1 support provided when necessary, such as to help with life skills or cooking, or to provide behavioural support. Staff are experienced in supporting individuals using a low arousal calm approach to support any anxieties around communication, sensory overload, change and transition.

 

Orion House provides structure and routine with clear expectations and boundaries regarding appropriate behaviour. We believe that regular exercise and accessing the community is essential to support positive well-being.

 

We particularly use areas such as the beach, woods and open countryside as they are generally quieter areas with lots of space and sensory stimulation for the individuals we support.
